Huawei Chairman, EU Chief Negotiator for Brexit and Wikipedia CEO among Web Summit luminaries

Web Summit has revealed its speaker line up for this year’s edition of Web Summit 2019, its technology conference which will be held in Lisbon, Portugal, from November 4–7.

This year’s speakers include Katherine Maher, CEO of Wikipedia; Guo Ping, chairman and rotating CEO of Huawei; Marc Raibert, CEO of BostonDynamics and Michel Barnier, lead Brexit negotiator at the European Commission.

“Web Summit is a forum for debate and discussion for many points of view. It is a place where people should be prepared to have their opinions deeply challenged, and in turn to deeply challenge the opinions of others.

“We’re excited to have such a diverse set of leaders across industries that are making so much change in our world speak at Web Summit,” said Paddy Cosgrave, Co-founder and CEO of Web Summit in a statement.

Dubbed by Forbes as “the best tech conference on the planet” and by Bloomberg as “the Davos for geeks”, Web Summit is the largest technology conference in the world.

Web Summit has a team of over 200 employees based in Dublin, Lisbon, Toronto and Hong Kong; including world class engineers, data scientists, designers, producers, marketers, salespeople and more.

Web Summit has disrupted an old industry by building incredible software and designing mind-blowing events – revolutionizing how people and ideas come together to change the world, the firm said in a statement.

It added that as one of the world’s largest gatherings of entrepreneurs, investors, multinationals and thought leaders—over 120,000 people from more than 170 countries join Web Summit in Lisbon, Collision in Toronto and RISE in Hong Kong.
